August 2023
This year, I join the faculty of the Department of History at DePauw University in Indiana as a Part-Time Assistant Professor of History. I'm honored to join my new colleagues at this wonderful school. 
July and August 2023
This summer, I joined my colleagues aboard another Viking Ocean Cruises journey to Norway, Scotland, and England. Apart from my usual program of lectures, this is my first visit to all three of these great countries.
June 2023
My first article, "Fenians Over the Niagara" will be published this summer with Left History journal. This article is a local case study of the Buffalo Irish American community of the mid-nineteenth century and their political ties to Ireland. The centerpiece of the article is the 1866 Fenian Raids from Buffalo into Canada and their aftermath. Apart from being my first article, this project also inspired my forthcoming dissertation. 
April 2023
I was honored this month by the Purdue University Department of History and the Department of Sociology with a series of awards. From the Department of History, I was granted the Woodman Award for research and the Mayer award for history and leadership. From the Department of Sociology, I was granted the Knudsen award for dissertation completion. Many thanks to the committees!
March 2023
This month I went to Sacramento, California for the 2023 Nineteenth Century Studies Association Conference. I presented my dissertation findings and met a group of lovely and talented fellow scholars.
February 2023
This month I joined the guests and crew of the Viking Sky for a Mediterranean cruise to Greece, Turkey, Italy, Monaco, France, and Spain. While aboard, I lectured about a series of topics ranging from Ancient Greece and Rome, the Renaissance, the French Revolution, and modern Europe.  What an adventure!
